Because certified "Mulesing free" lane.

What does "Mulesing" consist of?

This practice was introduced at the end of the 20s of the last century in Australia by John WH Mules.

It is a very cruel technique in which the animal is deprived of the dignity of a living being, which is unacceptable to us.

Sheep of the Merinos breed, the producers of the finest wool, have very wrinkled skin, therefore particularly prone to infections and myiasis, especially in the perianal area.

This creates health problems for the sheep but makes the fleece fibers less valuable and more difficult to wash and disentangle in the washing and carding phases.

To overcome this problem in an economical and fast way, some breeders remove part of the rear tissues and the tail of the animal, often without any type of anesthesia in order to obtain a less contaminated wool production, although they exist.  alternative and non-bloody treatments.

Our choice.

To produce our fabrics, we look for yarns produced with fibers from farms that do not practice this kind of technique on the market.

We require with every purchase that we are guaranteed the RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certificate which offers breeders the opportunity to demonstrate to the public their best practices regarding the respect of flocks.
